The 1 TB d2 SAFE Triple Interface External Hard Drive from LaCie is an external hard drive that features an integrated biometric fingerprint scanner for security and authentication.

Description:

The drive features an interface that allows it to be connected by USB 2.0, FireWire-400, or FireWire-800. The drive has a rotation speed of 7200 rpm, a 16 MB data buffer and sustained data transfer rates of up to 64 MB/sec using FireWire-800. The drive is an excellent storage solution for users who require an extra layer of protection for their sensitive data.

Features:

• Fingerprint Security

The drive features a fingerprint scanner that only allows the data on it to be accessed by an authenticated user, making sure that nobody else can view your sensitive information. Read/Write access can be configured for up to five users and the security cannot be fooled by simply removing the drive from its enclosure due to the firmware internal lock. The drive also features a standard security slot for protection from theft.

• 1 TB Capacity

1 TB of capacity allows for storage of approximately 75 hours of uncompressed DV digital video, the equivalent of 212 4.7 GB DVD video discs, or up to 250,000 MP3 files.
